Consultations

A visit or treatment from a Feng Shui or Dowsing practitioner is referred to as a consultation.  Such consultations are available from Ced Jackson, who is on the professional register of both the Feng Shui Society and the British Society of Dowsers.

It is useful if you have a specific objective in mind when requesting a consultation.

Such an objective could relate, for example, to health, career, relationships, parents and role models (such as academic or intellectual figures), finance, friends, creativity, or reflection and spiritual issues.

Three main topics will be considered :

  • The Client

  • The Location (i.e. the house, garden and surrounding area)

  • The Client in relation to their location

In practical terms this includes...

A Dowsing Survey of the Property
This will establish the presence ~ if any ~ of lines or zones of detrimental energy, sometimes known as Geopathic Stress.

Particular note will be taken of detrimental energy which affects areas in which people spend a good deal of time, such as the bedroom, or a favourite armchair.

Interventions to transform the detrimental energy
This might include earth acupuncture, dowsing, etc.

'Predecessor Energy'
A consideration of what has gone before within the property, and if work needs to be done to clear any remaining energetic traces.  Dowsing is again useful in this regard.

An examination of house, plot and neighbourhood
'Design' issues from a Feng Shui perspective.

This is known as 'Form School' Feng Shui, and is intended to identify problems which might affect different members of the household, and the simple steps that can be taken to remedy the situation.

Landscape Influences
How comfortable we are in a house may be influenced by the way the house fits into the landscape.  In areas where the landscape is 'strong' ~ as in the Lake District or around the Malvern Hills ~ this could be important for the well being of the occupants.

Orientation
Known as 'Compass School' Feng Shui, the aspect of the house and the plot (e.g. which direction it faces) will be considered for favourable and unfavourable influences, and appropriate action identified.

An examination of electrical, magnetic and microwave radiation within the property...
...especially in the bedroom, and other places where people spend a lot of time, and a consideration of what can be done to reduce exposure.

For example, hairdryers are often left plugged-in within bedrooms.  Even if they are switched off at the hairdryer itself, they always  carry current, unless they are completely unplugged, and hairdryers are really small electric fires.

Good quality electrical, magnetic and microwave radiation meters  are used to measure the amount of radiation present, and ways of reducing the amount of exposure are identified.

Time and tide considerations
The astrology of the various members of the household may be considered

Energetic Protection
An assessment will be made of any necessary actions with regard to this.

Length of Consultation
All consultations are different, and can range from between two hours to five hours.  If the client has a time limit (e.g. because they have to collect children from school), the consultation will be geared to that requirement.

The Consultation
If you would like to explore the possibility of a consultation, please ring on 01684 560265.

It is useful if you can be as clear as possible about why you would like to have a consultation, and what you would like to achieve.

It is also fine if you consider that your house 'just doesn't feel right', or 'that something is adrift' which you would like to sort out.

The consultation will take place at your home.

Your family
If you are married or live with a partner it is ideal if both of you can be present for the consultation, especially if the issue affects you both.  If that is not possible, or if you would prefer, the consultation could take place with just yourself present.

The consultation and personal safety
So that you feel completely comfortable during the consultation,  you may wish to consider in advance if you are happy with having someone who you may not have met before with you for several hours.

It is perfectly reasonable ~ if you so wish ~ to invite a friend to be with you during the consultation.

Please be aware that the consultation will be concerned with the issues which you would like to resolve, and may therefore involve discussion on personal topics.  In order to have an open discussion between the client and the consultant, it would be helpful if the friend could be in another room while such discussions take place.  It would also be helpful if the friend is asked not to comment on the process or the discussions during the consultation.

My photo appears on this website so that you will know you are letting the right person into your house.

The day of the consultation
Do not feel that you have to clean the house or tidy things up.  In fact, it is much better if the house is in its usual condition.

During the consultation energies present may be adjusted or released, and in some cases that may have a mild effect on the client, in the same way that you might feel a bit spaced out after a massage or a long hot bath.  Any such effects will pass within a few hours, however...

You are therefore recommended not to do anything after the consultation which involves anything like clambering about on ladders, or detailed paper work.  If you can avoid driving for the rest of the day that would be ideal.  If you do have to drive, give yourself plenty of time for your journey and take care.

Remembering what was said during the consultation !
You are welcome to take notes if you wish.  In addition to the consultation, if you would like to have a report, that can be negotiated.  A follow up letter is often provided.

You are welcome to tape record the consultation if you wish, though in my experience recording something over a long period of time ~ with at least two participants who may be moving around the house ~ is often not very successful.

Decide what you want from the consultation
Be as clear as possible about what is troubling you and what you want.

Confidentiality
Consultations are always confidential and the privacy of the client is respected.  Feng Shui is a large and complicated subject and in certain cases, the consultant may wish to refer to colleagues who are experts in particular fields.  In such cases no information identifying the client is revealed to third parties.

Ced has holds insurance from a company specialising in providing this service to complementary practitioners.

Personal Health and Healing
Feng Shui & Dowsing are usually thought of activities related to a house or a piece of land, and a great deal of attention will be given to land and property during the consultation.

However, Feng Shui & dowsing are what might be called 'energetic' processes.  Not 'energetic' in the sense of leaping about, but in terms of studying the energies present.

These energies ~ whether they be within the land or the human body ~ can be adjusted, and though dowsing can be used to identify an issue (in the same way in which it can be used to identify the location of a pipe in a field), dowsing can also be used as part of an intervention.

For example, the American dowser and healer Joey Korn uses dowsing as part of a process to adjust energies in the land and in people.  Ced has studied extensively with Joey and uses his approach.

As part of his consultations Ced therefore offers ~ if appropriate ~ a variety of dowsing and feng shui related personal healing interventions, including hands-on (shoulders) healing, no-contact energetic massage (the hand is held around four inches above the body), and other dowsing approaches.
