For over twenty years
Alanna has been one of Australia's foremost dowsers. Her work is set
out in her books, and also on her web site at
www.geomantica.com . The website very helpfully also provides access to the back issues of Alanna's newsletters ~ Geomantica ~ which chronicle her work and approach. Alanna is well known for her work on 'Towers of Power' , developed from the research of Professor Phillip Callaghan into how the round towers of Ireland helped the fertility of the land (See Stone Age Farming). Alanna now travels across Australia dowsing for the best position for the placing of the modern version of round towers. Alanna is also well known for her work on Divining Earth Spirit ~ getting in touch with the unseen animate and inanimate forces that dwell within the earth ~ and bringing harmony, fertility and peace to the land. Both of these two elements of Alanna's work will be covered in the day workshop. In the morning she will provide some background and go into the theory and practice of round towers. After a delicious on-site lunch Alanna will go deeper into the practise of communicating with local elementals. Some of Malvern's geomantic hot spots will be visited and the energies of the sacred wells and springs will be dowsed not only for their energetic vitality but also for the water spirits residing in them. The group will practise techniques for communicating with them and ritual for harmonising their energies, as required. Dowsing will thus be used as a means of 'lifting the veils' to the other dimensions of nature, the result of which can be extremely exhilarating! The course will be held at West Malvern Village Hall ~ on the western slopes of the Malvern Hills ~ and there will be two practical sessions during the workshop, which Alanna will lead on the hills. The Village Hall is at 145 West Malvern Road, Malvern WR14 4AY, website at (www.WestMalvernVillageHall.com) The Village Hall is at the junction of Ebrington Road and West Malvern Road, a quick taxi ride from Great Malvern station. Park on West Malvern Road, further south (up the hill). If you need overnight accommodation, I personally recommend Harmony House Malvern (www.HarmonyHouseMalvern.com) run by Catherine Bower, who will be providing the lunch and refreshments for the course. Harmony House is at 184 West Malvern Road, WR14 4AZ, more or less opposite the Village Hall (01684 891650).
